Shelby W. Yeager, MEd, LAT, ATC, CSCS, brings over twenty years of experience to her dynamic career in health and human services. With a foundation in kinesiology and sports medicine from Temple University and a master's in health and physical education from East Stroudsburg University, Yeager's career trajectory has been both diverse and impactful. Her roles have ranged from athletic trainer at Wilkes University to influential positions at the John Heinz Rehabilitation Institute and Keystone College, culminating in her current role as Dean at Marywood University.

In her capacity as Dean, Yeager oversees more than 20 prestigious academic programs and departments, including high-demand fields including, Nutrition and Exercise Science, Nursing, Social Work, and Speech-Language Pathology. Her leadership style is characterized by a commitment to excellence and innovation, significantly enhancing the educational experience for both students and faculty.

"Shelby has been a driving force for change and growth within our department and the College of Health Sciences, " said Renee Jourdanais, Speech-Language Pathology assistant professor of practice and clinic director. ”She truly listens and understands the unique challenges we face."

Yeager's holistic approach to leadership integrates her extensive certifications with a deep commitment to wellness and education, extending her influence beyond academia. Her notable contributions include work with the Sports Injury Prevention Program in New York City, emphasizing her dedication to community health.

"I wouldn’t change anything about my life because it’s led me to where I am today,” said Yeager. “Marywood has been good to me, and now I’m just trying to repay that affection that’s been granted to me." This sentiment of gratitude and humility highlights her impactful tenure.”

With over 25 years at Marywood, Yeager remains optimistic about the future of higher education.

"The landscape has shifted, sure, but the dreams that drive us forward remain as vibrant and compelling as ever, " said Yeager. “Health Sciences is, and always will be, a cornerstone of higher education."

Yeager’s leadership at Marywood is a testament to the powerful outcomes when passion is aligned with purpose, inspiring all to aim high and work collaboratively towards common goals.
