Marywood Athletic Facilities are available for use, free of charge, to students, faculty and staff (with a valid Marywood identification card), except during intercollegiate games, team practices, or Department of Exercise Science classes and special events. Marywood's Athletic Facilities can be rented by outside groups and organizations. For rental accommodations and pricing of athletic facilities, please contact the Office of Conference and Event Services at (570) 961-4781. To check availability for a facility, contact the appropriate staff member listed below. Marywood is guided by the belief that recreational opportunities are vital to the collegiate experience. Thus we offer diverse opportunities in this area including a varied selection of more than forty intramural programs and a variety of fitness, aerobic, martial arts, and recreation classes.

The $14 million Center for Athletics and Wellness opened in the fall of 2006. The Center offers state-of-the-art fitness, recreation, and athletic opportunities and includes a premier fitness center, climbing wall, elevated running track, dance/aerobic studio, the 1,500 season Insalaco Arena to showcase Pacers sports, and high-tech athletic training areas.

Outdoor athletic facilities include six tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and basketball courts. The baseball and softball fields were named the top college fields in the country in 2016 by the Sports Turf Managers Association and the multipurpose natural grass field has undergone a major renovation which includes laser-leveling, an irrigation system and a new grass mixture. A $2.13 million multipurpose synthetic turf facility opened in July 2009 and is utilized by many outdoor sports as well as recreation programs.

A new Aquatics Center, inclusive of eight lanes, one and three meter diving boards, spectator seating and team rooms, opened in May 2011. This center caps off a five-year, $25 million dollar campaign to improve Marywood's athletic facilities.

The Lynett-Haggerty Family Fitness Center has over 5,000 square feet of space.

The Insalaco Arena seats 1,500 spectators, has an elevated running track, a batting cage and can be divided into two full-sized courts for volleyball and basketball.

The Marywood University Aquatics Center is the newest swimming and diving facility in Northeast Pennsylvania, and home to the University's 15th and 16th intercollegiate teams-Men's Swimming and Diving and Women's Swimming and Diving. The facility also provides recreation and competitive opportunities for the campus community as well as regional schools and organizations.

The Hall of Fame/Conference Room on the second floor provides adequate meeting space and houses the Hall of Fame.

Marywood's multipurpose synthetic turf field opened in the summer of 2009 and was resurfaced in the summer of 2017, and features lights and a state of the art sound system among its many features. Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, and Men's and Women's Soccer all play home games at the venue.

Pacers Athletics Field was renovated in the summer of 2009 to include an irrigation system. The men's and women's soccer teams, as well as the men's and women's lacrosse teams, use the field as both a practice and sometimes as a game venue.  The men's and women's rugby team will also use Pacers Athletic Field as a home venue.

Marywood has a six tennis court facility that is open to staff and students.

The baseball team plays home games overlooking the beautiful Pocono mountains. Marywood's baseball field was recognized as a 2016 Keystone Athletic Field Manager's Organization (KAFMO) Field of Distinction and was named the top college baseball field in the country by the Sports Turf Managers Association in 2016 as well.

The softball team plays home games overlooking the beautiful Pocono mountains as well. A new bullpen area was added down each foul line, and, along with the Marywood baseball field, was named the top college softball field in the country by the Sports Turf Managers Association in 2016.

The Lynett-Haggerty Family Fitness Center features a four-rope rock climbing wall with trained belayers. 


 

Marywood University’s Esports Center is the premier esports facility in Northeastern Pennsylvania that provides a powerful experience for those competing and for visiting students. This 2,000-square foot center, located within Marywood’s Nazareth Student Center, blends function and practicality into an exciting, state-of-the-art gaming center. Aside from the 30 gaming stations, this high-tech facility features additional ultra-modern lighting, chairs, a gaming lounge, and equipment.
