The Northeastern Youth Wind Ensemble is affiliated with American Youth Ensembles, offering middle and high school musicians an opportunity to perform with other student instrumentalists who simply enjoy making music. They will perform a variety of repertoire ranging from traditional (transcriptions, marches and works of serious and artistic merit) to cutting-edge contemporary composition and music from popular media venues. Guitar Ensemble Concert

The Marywood Guitar Ensemble presents The Surreal and the Folkloric: The Music and Poetry of Federico García Lorca (1898–1936), an immersive interdisciplinary concert blending guitar ensemble, spoken word, and vocal performance. Presented in collaboration with the NEPA Guitar Society and Olde Stories, the program explores Lorca’s poetic world through surreal imagery, folkloric traditions, and Spanish musical heritage. The concert features spoken-word artists Melinda Krokus and Jason Smeltzer, student vocalists from the Marywood University Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, and a special appearance by internationally acclaimed guitarist and composer Sungmin Shin, who will perform a newly commissioned work written in homage to Ozzy Osbourne with the Marywood Guitar Ensemble. This concert highlights the ensemble’s commitment to artistic collaboration, contemporary creation, and bold interdisciplinary programming.

The spring Chamber Singers concert will feature "Komm, Jesu, Komm," J. S. Bach's gorgeous motet for double chorus, and "Phos Hilaron," a dramatic piece for unaccompanied choir by the young English composer Owain Park. Also on the program are several other sacred and secular pieces, as well as a set of spirituals.

The Marywood Orchestra concert will open with one of the most famous pieces of Latin repertoire, Danzón No. 2 by Arturo Márquez, bursting with color, energy, and irresistible dance rhythms. The program will continue with selections from the operas Don Giovanni by Mozart and Lakmé by Delibes, with students taking on significant roles that bring these timeless works to life.The evening will conclude with the programmatic masterpiece “A Night on Bald Mountain” by Mussorgsky, a thrilling, imaginative work familiar from Walt Disney movies and sure to capture the audience’s imagination and leave them inspired.
