Our Healthy Demo Classroom is used for instruction and demonstrations, for both students and the community at large.
Our Sensory Evaluation Lab allows students to test the products they make in the Food Science Lab. The two laboratories are connected for easy evaluation.
Exercise Science Lab
Marywood's 2,040-square foot Exercise Science Lab is one of the area's leading sites for student and faculty research. Located in the Center for Athletics and Wellness, the lab is fully equipped to conduct a wide array of physiological measurements to assess health, fitness and athletic performance, and to complete various physiological and biological research.
The lab provides testing for those who wish to improve athletic performance or monitor their progress toward their fitness and/or weight loss goals. It is not a fitness facility. For recreational and competitive athletes, we offer body composition analysis, VO2max (aerobic) testing, lactate profiling, and Wingate anaerobic power testing. The purpose of fitness testing includes education of participants about their present fitness status relative to healthy standards and age/gender-matched norms, as well as
Housed within the Exercise Science Lab is an independent biochemistry lab fully equipped for the preparation and analysis of chemical compounds and biological specimens. An environmental chamber, also within the lab, is available for studies needing precisely controlled temperature, humidity, or gas concentrations. The laboratory is equipped with a full complement of utilities, including climate control, electricity (110 VAC, 220 VAC), water, natural gas, vacuum, and compressed air, and a 30" x 36" certified fume hood.
Center for Athletics and Wellness
Built in 2006, the 84,000-square foot Center for Athletics and Wellness houses the Insalaco Arena, the Aquatics Center, jogging track, fitness center, climbing wall, a dance studio, fitness labs, and locker rooms. It affirms Marywood's commitment to the health and wellness of its campus community and the region.
Features of the Center for Athletics and Wellness include:
- The Marywood University Aquatics Center, dedicated in 2011, is one of the premier swimming and diving facilities in Northeast Pennsylvania, and home to the Men’s and Women's Swimming and Diving teams. The 17,000-square foot facility also provides recreation and competitive opportunities for the campus community as well as regional schools and organizations.
- The Insalaco Arena seats 1,500 spectators, has an elevated running track, a batting cage, and can be divided into two full-sized courts for volleyball and basketball.
- The Lynett-Haggerty Fitness Center is a premier fitness facility with over 5,000 square feet of space and a rock-climbing wall. Framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that allow ample natural light and unobstructed views of Marywood's beautiful campus, the facility features equipment for overall and targeted workouts, such as weights, ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bicycles, and other popular exercise machines.
- Exercise Science and Human Physiology labs, locker rooms, and a hydro therapy room are also in the Center for Athletics and Wellness.
Athletics and Wellness Classrooms
The Exercise Science Program is housed in the Center for Athletics and Wellness. It features state-of-the-art training rooms and the human physiology lab, which provides students with a variety of research equipment.

Lynett-Haggerty Fitness Center
The Lynett-Haggerty Fitness Center is a premier fitness facility within the Center for Athletics and Wellness. With over 5,000 square feet of space and a rock-climbing wall, it is part of an impressive athletics and recreation setting that is a magnificent attraction for the entire region, with particular support for the health and fitness goals of the Marywood community. The facility is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that allow ample natural light and unobstructed views of Marywood's beautiful campus. The Lynett-Haggerty Fitness Center features equipment for overall and targeted workouts, such as weights, ellipticals, treadmills, stationary bicycles, and other popular exercise machines.
Aquatics Center
The Aquatics Center features an eight-lane, NCAA-compliant intercollegiate competition pool that includes three-meter and one-meter diving platforms as well as the latest in visiting team and fan comfort. It led to the establishment of Marywood's men's and women's swimming and diving teams, and it supports aquatics classes in the health and physical education curriculum, along with providing community recreation opportunities.
Baseball Field
The Baseball team plays home games overlooking the beautiful Pocono mountains. Marywood's Baseball Field was recognized as a 2016 Keystone Athletic Field Manager's Organization (KAFMO) Field of Distinction and was named the top college baseball field in the country by the Sports Turf Managers Association in 2016 as well.

Softball Field
The softball team plays home games overlooking the beautiful Pocono mountains. A bullpen area was added down each foul line, and, along with the Marywood baseball field, the field was named the top college softball field in the country by the Sports Turf Managers Association in 2016.

Grass Field
Pacers Athletics Field was renovated in the summer of 2009 to include an irrigation system. The men's and women's soccer teams, as well as the men's and women's lacrosse teams, use the field as both a practice and sometimes as a game venue. The men's and women's rugby teams also use Pacers Athletic Field as a home venue.
Multipurpose Synthetic Turf Field
Field Hockey, Men's and Women's Lacrosse, and Men's and Women's Soccer all play home games at the venue. In addition, other sports, such as baseball and softball, utilize the turf field for practices when inclement weather keeps them off of their main fields.
Scholarships
Morris K. Udall Scholarship
The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics. The Foundation also seeks future Native American and Alaska Native leaders in public and community health care, tribal government, and public policy affecting Native American communities, including land and resource management, economic development, and education.
