Online Instruction Endorsement Certification

Enhance Your Teaching Portfolio with an Online Instruction Endorsement

Due to the increase in online and blended learning in PK-12 settings, it is imperative for current and future teachers to be prepared to teach in an online environment. The program will be of interest to current graduate education students and PK-12 teachers. Currently, teaching jobs that include an online teaching component do not require a special certification, however, that requirement may be put in place in the very near future. Current undergraduate students will also have the opportunity to take these courses and apply for the endorsement after receiving their undergraduate education degree.

The Online Teaching Endorsement program is a 12-credit program that includes four, 8-week accelerated courses designed for candidates who have completed a bachelor's program and are interested in obtaining professional knowledge, skills, and competencies to teach in an online environment

The program is approved through the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and includes a 10-hour field experience component for students to take the knowledge that they receive and apply it to hands-on practice in the field.
