Pursuing study in 3-Dimensional Studio Arts combines the disciplines of Sculpture and Ceramics, suitable for the student who wishes to embark on a creative career path that explores both 3D art forms. This track, which leads to a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, also includes courses in Digital Design, Drawing, Art History, and Painting, along with 3D Studio Electives, so students can truly shape the kind of degree program they want in pursuit of a career as a professional artist.
Students will get a foundation in 3D design with a focus on the clay medium, as well as a thorough examination of 3D forms and space that emphasize traditional and highly technical skills found in the study of sculpture. Courses demand a high level of creativity and professionalism.
Students will have access to modern, beautiful facilities that allow them to tap into their creativity. Marywood's fully equipped ceramics studio features personal workspaces and is equipped with kickwheels, electric wheels, a slab roller, a clay extruder, a clay mixer. It's accessible seven days a week, from morning to evening, to all enrolled students. Our metalworking facilities, in particular, are highly developed and include a state-of-the-art physical plant. Our foundry is equipped for bronze and aluminum casting, resin bonded sand, and investment mold making.
