Social Workers: Earn Your Home and School Visitor Certification
Home and School Visitors (HSV) are licensed and certified professionals who provide professional social work services in a variety of K-12 educational institutions to students, families, schools, and the community.
- Provide professional social work services in educational institutions
- Three tracks to certification offered:
- Post-MSW-HSV Certification: Requires a Master of Social Work Degree (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited School of Social Work. All Home and School Visitor post-MSW candidates complete a minimum of 360 hours in a school-based field placement which can be the applicants current position as a School Social worker, Crisis Counselor, Emergency HSV, etc.
- HSV Certification Only: All Home and School Visitor ONLY candidates complete a minimum of 440 hours in a school-based field placement, supervised by a Certified Home and School Visitor who completes a role competency evaluation of the candidates demonstrated skills.
- Combined MSW degree/HSV Certification: All Home and School Visitor/MSW candidates complete a minimum of 440 hours in a school-based field placement, supervised by a Certified Home and School Visitor who completes a role competency evaluation of the candidates demonstrated skills.
