ASEC Staff Travel to Zambia for Leadership Workshop and Ministry Visits

Published

Several staff members from the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) recently traveled to Lusaka, Zambia, to participate in ASEC’s Alumnae Leaders and Staff Workshop and conduct site visits for the organization’s Service Learning Program.

ASEC Executive Director Sr. Draru Mary Cecilia, LSMIG; Senior Program Managers Tara Lopatofsky and Rosemary Shaver; Program Coordinator Isabelle Henry; Development Director Sr. Nancy Kamau, LSOSF; and Digital & Social Media Specialist Megan Wescott, attended the workshop alongside alumnae and staff from 11 African countries.

The week-long workshop focused on storytelling, research documentation, and communication strategies that help sisters share the impact of their ministries. Sessions included photography, interviewing, data collection, and donor engagement.

Following the workshop, ASEC staff conducted site visits across Zambia to connect with alumnae ministries, explore service-learning opportunities for students, and meet with partner institutions, including DMI St. Eugene University.

These visits strengthen ASEC’s global partnerships and support the continued impact of sisters’ leadership and service across communities in Africa.
