Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts
Throughout the academic year, you can attend a performance on the main stage of the Munley Theatre or in the more intimate setting of the Black Box Theatre. Marywood's many Music, Theatre, and Dance Ensembles, large and small, often perform here, including Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Wind Symphony/Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and more. The building also includes classrooms and private practice rooms for students.
Originally built in 1952 as Assumption Hall (Fine Arts Building/Auditorium), the space was renovated and renamed in 1999 as the Frank E. and Angela Sette LaVerghetta Center for the Performing Arts, in honor of esteemed music alumna Angela Sette LaVerghetta '48, who was a trustee of the University, and her husband, Frank, who also served as a Marywood trustee. The Munley Theatre, which houses the auditorium and main stage, was named in honor of Marywood's 11th President, Sister Anne Munley, IHM, by the Board of Trustees in 2022.
Sette LaVerghetta Center Theatre
The Sette LaVerghetta Center Theatre is a 1,100-seat main stage theatre and concert hall for all University-related events.
This large performance space contains a proscenium stage, orchestra pit, dressing rooms, box offices, control room, back stage area and the ability to fly scenery. Other features include sound and lighting boards, a 9-foot Steinway grand piano and 7-foot Steinway grand piano (on stage), a Mason & Hamlin grand piano (orchestra pit), and large Allen electronic organ.

PAC Room 104

Music Therapy Clinic and Research Lab
The purpose of the Music Therapy Clinic is two-fold, namely, to provide music therapy majors with an educational opportunity for hands on one-on-one clinical experience under the supervision of a board certified-music therapist; and secondly, as an out- reach to those in the community with special needs. Approximately sixteen to twenty clients are served weekly. Among them are individuals of all ages with a variety of challenges, e.g. mental and physical challenges, attention deficit disorders, cerebral-palsy, autism spectrum, closed head injuries, Down syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Performing Arts Center Computer Labs
Computer Labs in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts are located in Room 102 and Room 225. These labs are reserved for use by Music Students only. There is a printer available.

Black Box Theatre
The Black Box Theatre, located on the Terrace Level of the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts, is a laboratory theatre designed with flex staging to accommodate student-directed productions and to support experimental theatre.
Latour Room
The Latour Room, located in the Nazareth Student Center, is a large, open multipurpose room with media capabilities. It accommodates up to 500 people. It is a flexible space, which can accommodate multiple presentation/event formats, with or without tables and chairs.
This space, formerly known as the Crystal Room, was renamed The Latour Conference Room on May 2, 2008. Mrs. Lois Ann German Latour '51 was a generous supporter of Marywood over the years and, before her death, named Marywood University as the recipient of a large estate bequest that helped the University to accomplish several physical plant projects.
Swartz Center for Spiritual Life
The Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, named in memory of Nellie Buckley Swartz, simultaneously affirms the centrality of faith in our lives and the heart of Marywood’s mission. The Swartz Center houses the Marian Chapel, Campus Ministry Offices, and the Conference Center.
The beautiful Marian Chapel features two-story stained glass doors that can be opened for special outdoor liturgical celebrations. Masses are held regularly here.
Conference and Event Services, also located in the Swartz Center, features meeting rooms that accommodate up to 100 people. Conference rooms are available to both the Marywood community and the public.
The Swartz Center, dedicated on April 21, 2007, was made possible by the renovation of the former Marian Convent and through the support of many. With its open and inviting atmosphere, the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life serves as the spiritual compass of the Marywood community and as a universal gathering space for conferences, meetings, and celebrations.
Marian Chapel
The Swartz Center for Spiritual Life is home to the beautiful Marian Chapel, with its two-story stained glass doors that can be opened for special outdoor liturgical celebrations. Masses are held regularly in the Marian Chapel.
The Marian Chapel also offers the Music, Theatre, and Dance Department an intimate 180-seat performing space. Completely renovated in 2007, the Marian Chapel (formerly the IHM Marian Convent), features a Peragallo pipe organ and 7-foot Steinway grand piano.
Rotunda
From its polished marble floors to its spectacular domed ceiling, the Rotunda is an iconic campus landmark located in the Liberal Arts Center. In the 1930s, work was finally completed on the most breathtaking addition to the campus during this period—the Rotunda interior—a task which had been deferred since 1924. Artist Gonippo Raggi was commissioned to paint the murals of the Rotunda. Completed in 1937, this ambitious effort artistically synthesized the religious and educational mission of the IHM Congregation and of Marywood.
The Rotunda is 72 feet in diameter, just eight feet smaller in size than its nearest domed competitor, the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The estimated value of the Rotunda artworks is 6 million dollars.
The Hall of Presidents, which displays portraits of Marywood's presidents, serves as the main entrance to the Rotunda and Liberal Arts Center. The Admissions Office is accessible from the Rotunda. It also is a majestic and effective performing space for unaccompanied vocal ensembles.

Morris K. Udall Scholarship
The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics. The Foundation also seeks future Native American and Alaska Native leaders in public and community health care, tribal government, and public policy affecting Native American communities, including land and resource management, economic development, and education.
