Walt Kosar, a graduate of Marywood University, will perform an original solo set at Musikfest on August 1, 2026, at the Lyrikplatz Stage from 8:00–8:45 p.m. The performance follows Musikfest’s recent recognition as the #1 music festival in the country by USA Today in its annual readers’ poll.
Kosar is known for his dynamic instrumental guitar performances, blending two-hand tapping, alternate tunings, and live looping to create layered, immersive soundscapes. His music combines technical precision with atmospheric textures and melodic composition, offering audiences the experience of a full band through a solo performance.
A Marywood alumnus with a degree in music, Kosar has been featured multiple times in Guitar Player Magazine and has had his music placed across major television networks, including MTV, VH1, CMT, Fox Sports, NBCSN, Discovery, and the History Channel. He performs regularly throughout the Philadelphia region and New York City and also leads educational guitar clinics focused on modern guitar techniques.
His upcoming performance at Musikfest reflects the continued growth of his work as he prepares to release new music later this year. Held annually in Bethlehem, Musikfest draws hundreds of thousands of attendees and features performances across multiple stages throughout the city.
