Andrea Novak Receives National NSSLHA Advisor Honors Award

Andrea Novak, M.A., CCC-SLP, of Marywood University has been named a recipient of the 2025 National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) Advisor Honors Award for Continued Commitment, a national recognition presented annually to one chapter advisor who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and service to students over a period of more than five years.

The Continued Commitment Award recognizes advisors who provide consistent and meaningful support to their NSSLHA chapters while promoting student leadership, engagement, and professional development. Recipients also exemplify NSSLHA’s core values, including philanthropy, community service, advocacy, career awareness, and leadership.

Novak has served as the Marywood NSSLHA chapter advisor for more than five years and is known for her hands-on mentorship and unwavering presence in student-led initiatives. From guiding chapter meetings to supporting fundraising and community engagement efforts, she works closely with student officers to ensure they feel prepared, confident, and supported.

“Ms. Novak is always there for our NSSLHA officers,” shared the chapter’s student leadership in a post announcing the honor. “She ensures we feel organized and ready for every meeting or event, while also genuinely caring about us as people. Her dedication, professionalism, and compassion have made a lasting impact on our chapter and our individual journeys.”

Beyond her role as an advisor, Novak is recognized for fostering an environment where students feel encouraged to grow as leaders and future professionals. Her commitment extends beyond logistics and programming, focusing on mentorship, well-being, and meaningful connection.
