Sue Jenkins, associate professor of design and photography at Marywood University, has been featured in the 17th edition of the Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines, a well-known resource used by creative professionals across the country.
Jenkins, who founded the Luckychair design studio, has been a member of the Graphic Artists Guild for 25 years. She joined in 2001 and says the organization has played a key role in her career, especially when it comes to understanding pricing, licensing, and professional standards in the design industry.
Her section in the handbook highlights her career path and shares lessons she’s learned along the way, offering guidance for other artists navigating the field. Being included in this edition is a meaningful recognition of her work and experience.
“The Guild has been such an important part of my career,” Jenkins said. “It’s helped me better understand the business side of design, while also connecting me with a community that values fairness and professionalism.”
The Graphic Artists Guild Handbook: Pricing & Ethical Guidelines is widely used as a reference for designers, covering topics like contracts, pricing, and ethical practices. Jenkins’ inclusion reflects her ongoing commitment to those values, both in her professional work and in the classroom.
At Marywood, Jenkins continues to mentor students while staying active in the design community, combining her work as an artist, educator, and advocate for ethical standards.
