Marywood University Launches “The Courts and Our Community” Lecture Series

Marywood University’s Center for Law, Justice, and Policy is proud to present a fall workshop series titled The Courts and Our Community: Civics Engagement.

The Honorable Judge Karoline Mehalchick, along with other distinguished legal professionals from the region, will lead the series. Designed to introduce students to key legal concepts and foster civic awareness, the sessions will offer direct engagement with judges, attorneys, and legal scholars.

Workshops will be held in the Swartz Center for Spiritual Life, Conference Room A, from 4–5:30 p.m. on the dates listed below. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to attend one or all of the lectures. The series offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical insights into the legal system and broaden perspectives on critical civic issues.

  • September 17 – First Amendment and Civil Discourse

  • October 1 – Civil Rights and the 14th Amendment

  • October 15 – Labor & Employment Law

  • October 29 – Federal Criminal Law

  • November 12 – How Do Judges Decide?

All members of the Marywood community and the public are welcome to attend.
