
Marywood Students Receive Top Honors at Pinnacle Awards
The University's communication arts students recently received top awards at the College Media Association Pinnacle Awards. John Ferraro, Dickson City, Pa., sports editor for The Wood Word and communication arts master’s program student, and Rachel Looker, Blandon, Pa., editor-in-chief of The Wood Word and senior broadcast journalism student, received second place in the Sports Feature category of the College Media Association Pinnacle awards.
Mr. Ferraro and Ms. Looker received the second-place award for their article, “Marywood adds rugby; hopes for new revenue, minimal cost,” which ran in the online student-run news site, The Wood Word. According to the website, “CMA’s Pinnacle Awards honor the best college media organizations and individual work. The contest is open to student work produced for any college media organization, including print, broadcast and online outlet, during an academic year.”
