Marywood's information security program prepares students for one of the fastest growing segments of that field: cybersecurity. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that in-demand information security jobs will continue to grow.

Students who graduate with a degree in information security are well-prepared for work as forensic analysts, security architects, network security engineers, or computer crime investigators, among others. Students in our Information Security program will:

  • Develop proficiency in computer programming languages such as C++ and Java;
  • Develop the skills to implement a security policy for protecting IT infrastructure and business data;
  • Understand the legal and ethical issues surrounding cybersecurity;
  • Understand the architecture of modern computers;
  • Be able to understand common data structures used in computing;
  • Be able to analyze computer algorithms;
  • Develop proficiency in computer networking;
  • Understand the principles of computer operating systems.

The Center for Natural and Health Sciences contains various science laboratories, computer labs, the 100-seat Comerford Theatre, and various classrooms. Classrooms for our Math and Computer Science, Science, Nursing, and Public Administration programs are in this building.
