Register for International Student Orientation and JFK Shuttle Pickup
International Student Orientation is mandatory for all new international students and is designed to help you successfully transition to life at Marywood University and in the United States.
During orientation, you'll complete important university check-in requirements, learn about maintaining your F-1 immigration status, meet fellow students, become familiar with campus resources, and begin building your new community. To see what we have lined up for you at the orientation, please review the agenda here (will provide agenda doc soon).
Please register for orientation as soon as possible.
Registration allows us to:
- Prepare your arrival and check-in
- Confirm your participation in orientation
- Plan meals and orientation materials
- Communicate important arrival updates
To help make your arrival easier, Marywood University offers complimentary airport transportation from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) for students who register in advance.
If you plan to arrive through JFK, you must reserve your seat by completing the Shuttle Registration Form. At this time, this service is available only to students arriving at JFK.
To participate, please:
- Register on or before August 1, 2026
- Submit your complete flight itinerary by August 1, 2026, to Mike Rini (mjrini@marywood.edu)
- Download WhatsApp on your mobile phone and join the group “Marywood International 2026”. If you experience trouble, request to join WhatsApp by locating the following number: 484-844-0047.
- Notify our office immediately if your travel plans change
After landing, students must complete immigration inspection, collect their baggage, clear customs, and then enter the public arrivals area. When you are through customs, you will exit the public meeting area and look for a member of our team holding a Marywood University sign.

Important Pre-Arrival Checklist
Before leaving for the United States, please be sure you have completed the following:
- Purchased health insurance that provides coverage in Pennsylvania – please see email sent with this information
- Submitted health records via MyHealth Marywood:
- Uploaded all required immunization records
- Submitted your physical examination documentation
- Finalized your housing arrangements with Housing and Residence Life
- Registered for International Student Orientation
- Reserved your JFK shuttle (if applicable)
- Sent your complete travel itinerary to Mike Rini (mjrini@marywood.edu)
- Stored all required immigration and travel documents in your carry-on luggage for safe, easy access while in transit to the U.S.
Before You Travel
Double-check that you have:
- Your passport
- Your F-1 visa
- Your Form I-20
- SEVIS fee payment receipt
- Admission letter
- Financial documentation
- Airline itinerary
- Emergency contact information
- Copies of all important documents
Always keep these documents with you in your carry-on bag. Do not pack them in checked luggage, or you risk losing them.
Arriving in the United States
Upon arriving at your U.S. Port of Entry, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer will review your immigration documents and may ask you a few questions about your studies.
Be prepared to present:
- Passport
- F-1 visa
- Form I-20
Answer all questions honestly and confidently. After you are admitted to the United States, keep your immigration documents in a secure location throughout your studies.
