Lindsay Howard began her Marywood tenure in 2012 as an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach, a graduate assistant for the Athletics and Recreation department and a graduate student in Sports Nutrition and Exercise Science.

She attained her graduate degree in 2016 and was hired as an Instructor of Practice in 2017. She was promoted to Assistant Professor of Practice in 2021 and has been serving as Interim Department Chair since the Spring of 2022.

As a full-time faculty member and Interim Department Chair, Howard’s primary responsibility is ensuring student learning outcomes are met through classroom based activities and hands-on laboratory experiences. Her favorite course is Advanced Exercise Physiology and her favorite topic area is performance physiology.

In her role as the Exercise Science Lab Manager, Howard is responsible for conducting human performance testing, and facilitating all classroom laboratory experiences. Her responsibility extends to its general upkeep and the maintenance of the community and academic functions of the Exercise Science Lab.

The best part about her roles at the university is having the ability to form relationships with her students. She enjoys seeing her classes mature and develop into professionals upon graduation.

Outside of the classroom and laboratory, Howard has practiced as a Personal Trainer/ Strength and Conditioning Coach for 10 years. She is a Registered and licensed Dietitian and has coached college basketball for 10 years. She is entering her sixth year as a full-time faculty member.
