Theodocia Zayac joined the teaching staff at Marywood University in the fall of 2020. She has held positions within the field of accounting for 14 years and prior to her position at Marywood, she held multiple accounting positions within the higher education industry.
Along with the discharge of her duties in the School of Business and Global Innovation, Zayac serves as a faculty advisor for Belief in Balanced Being, an eating disorder awareness club on campus.
The best part of her present position is being able to interact with students, particularly those within their first two semesters at Marywood. This gives her an opportunity to truly welcome them and watch their academic growth throughout their college experience.
She attained her MBA from the University of Scranton in 2008. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Strategic Leadership and Administrative Studies.
Outside of the classroom, Zayac serves as president of The Jude Zayac Foundation, a local nonprofit organization that raises money to support SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) research and the Baby and Children’s Pantry at St. Joseph’s Center. She and her husband started the foundation in 2014 after their son, Jude, died. The mission of the foundation and the work they do is central to Zayac’s personal and professional life. Countless Marywood students have volunteered at the foundation’s annual Jog for Jude 5k. The support Zayac receives from her students as well as the guidance and support she is able to provide them is the greatest honor for Zayac.
