On October 19, 2011, Marywood hosted a Landscape Design Conference, sponsored by the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. It focused on developing and managing landscapes in a healthier, more environmentally friendly way, while saving money.
Each year, students hold a free, public “e-cycling” event on campus. This year, they collected and recycled over 31,000 lbs. of unwanted electronics!
Marywood's student environmental club, Pugwash, has taken an active role in promoting sustainable practices on campus. They encourage students to enjoy nature responsibly and recently convinced Marywood to purchase some of its power in renewable energy credits.
