Teachers, do you want to improve your ability to help English Language Learners succeed in the classroom?
Then Marywood's ESL Program Specialist certification program is for you. It is designed to provide classroom teachers and prospective ESL teachers with the theory and practical strategies needed to support English Language Learners in the K-12 setting. Courses are offered in an accelerated, hybrid format, combining flexible scheduling with face-to-face teacher and peer support.

Pre-requisite: Initial PA teacher certification
Non-native English speakers must demonstrate proficiency on the ACTFL.
Subject Area Specializations
Full transfer credit will be awarded for courses in the following specializations based upon comparable prior credits earned.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) (K-12) Endorsement is intended to improve a teacher's skills in this specialized area and can be added to existing Level I or Level II certificates.
The online Autism Spectrum Disorders Endorsement will help educators, school psychologists, counselors, and other professionals work more effectively with children and youth diagnosed with ASD.
