About Me: I joined the Admissions staff in Fall of 2013. I graduated from Marywood in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a French minor. I grew up in and currently reside in Hawley, PA.

My Interests: I am the definition of “bookworm”.  At any given time I am in the process of reading at least three different books.  I prefer to read fiction, but lately I have been immersing myself in books about nutrition; it’s interesting stuff!  When I’m not reading, I enjoy going camping, shopping (of course, what girl doesn’t?), and spending far too much time on Pinterest.

My Favorite Thing about Marywood: The sense of community on campus. As an undergraduate student, I never felt lost in the crowd—something I believe was central to my college experience, and my desire to return to Marywood.

Favorite Place on Campus: The Memorial Arch. It was the first thing I ever saw when I first visited campus, and now every time I return it is like an old friend welcoming me back.

You’d Never Guess: I am an EMT and a volunteer firefighter. I fight fires alongside my father, who has been the chief of our company for nearly twenty years!

My Best Advice:  Although it’s important to do your research and to look at costs, programs, and other statistics, those “numbers” can only tell you so much about a university. Schedule a visit, take a tour, and ask LOTS of questions. The staff, faculty, and students you talk to have all been in your shoes at some point and are valuable resources. They can share personal experiences that you won’t find on a website!

My best advice for a student is to start the college process early! It is never a bad idea to explore your options and be prepared in advance.
