Mary Salvaterra, CSJ, Ph.D., Professor in Education, co-authored Developing Leaders Among Women Religious in Africa in A. W. Wiseman (Ed.), Educational leadership: Global contexts and international comparisons (pp. 245-271). UK: Emerald Press. The work describes studies completed through the Sisters Leadership Development Initiative (SLDI) designed to develop leadership skills in 304 women religious of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Nigeria.
Marywood student, Sean Manley, aids in Haiti relief efforts.
The exhibition, Furniture Forms, will be featured at Lavish in downtown Scranton during the month of February. The exhibition of works by Marywood students will showcase some of the best work created by art students of the region in recent years. All work was designed and created by students enrolled in Marywood University's Three Dimensional Design advanced class during the 2009 fall term.
The Marywood University Chapter of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) was awarded a $700.00 community service grant from the NSSLHA Executive Council in fall 2009. The grant was used to support an educational project for Head Start, a Scranton Lackawanna Human Development Agency (SLHDA).
