Game On
Three students have advanced to the finalists’ phase of the “Let’s Play PA” game awards. Nadine Kloss-Gannon, Greentown, Pa., master of fine arts student; Kelsey Van Horn, West Pittston, Pa., bachelor of fine arts student; and Stephani Kirkos, Hamburg, N.J., bachelor of fine arts student, have been named finalists for their game “Gallows.”
“Gallows” is a three-dimensional version of the game “Hangman” and was created last year in the students’ Graphic Design class. Ms. Kloss-Gannon, Ms. Van Horn, and Ms. Kirkos will attend the Consortium on Video Games (COG) conference, “Let’s Play PA,” which will be held at the Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, Harrisburg, Pa., on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
The one-day conference is the official gathering on the subject of game development, and combines a conference, expo, and awards show celebrating the efforts of hundreds of talented students, developers, and educators from Pennsylvania. According to the COG website, “Let’s Play PA” is a conference that showcases the creative talents of Pennsylvania’s game developers and educational programs.
