Giving Societies

Marywood University’s giving societies recognize alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends whose generous commitments help shape Marywood’s future. Their foundational support strengthens and enhances the programs and opportunities that empower Marywood students through education. Every gift makes the Marywood experience even more extraordinary for the generations of students who will live meaningful lives creating positive effects serving others in their communities. We are grateful to all of our generous donors and proud to recognize them as part of the following giving societies.

The St. Alphonsus Society, named in memory of St. Alphonsus Liguori, a patron saint of the IHM Congregation and Marywood University, honors the University's most faithful benefactors. The St. Alphonsus Society comprises benefactors whose lifetime gifts total at least $500,000.

St. Teresa of Avila Benefactors Club:
Total lifetime gifts of $2,500,000 and above.

"Abundant Life" Benefactors Club:
Total lifetime gifts of $500,000 to $999,999.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Benefactors Club:
Total lifetime gifts of $1,000,000 to $2,499,999.

Alumni, parents, and friends like you who contribute $1,000 or more annually (July 1 - June 30) to any area of the University become members of The Presidential Society. Your support can construct and renew spaces for growing programs, provide scholarships to students in need, enrich academic programs, or bolster annual support that will allow Marywood to continue to be innovative. Presidential Society members' outstanding generosity and loyalty set the standard for giving that inspires the Marywood community.

Clubs within the Presidential Society:

The Presidential Society acknowledges Marywood's most generous annual benefactors. A gift of $1,000 or more for the fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) will enroll you in the Presidential Society. Clubs within the Presidential Society:

Sister Theresa Maxis, IHM Club:
Total gifts of $20,000 or more in one fiscal year.

Father Louis Gillet Club:
Total gifts of $10,000 to $19,999 in one fiscal year.

Sister M. St. Mary Orr, IHM Club:
Total gifts of $5,000 to $9,999 in one fiscal year.

Sister M. Coleman Nee, IHM Club:
Total gifts of $2,000 to $4,999 in one fiscal year.

Associates Club:
Total gifts of $1,000 to $1,999 in one fiscal year.

As a Graduate Of the Last Decade, you are invited to join an influential group of vibrant leaders who are making an incredible impact on Marywood University. With a gift of $250 or more between July 1 and June 30, you can transform students’ lives. Your support can provide scholarships for students, enrich academic programs, or improve campus beautification. Presidential Society members’ outstanding generosity and loyalty set the standard for giving that inspire the Marywood community.

Benefits of Membership for gifts made July 1 – June 30:

  • Listing in the Annual Donor Report as a member of The Presidential Society
  • Quarterly Presidential Society email newsletter with special notification of campus events
  • Invitation to annual Presidential Society Recognition Event

The Tourmaline Legacy Society honors benefactors who have established planned gifts with Marywood University or have named Marywood as a beneficiary in their estate plans, either through a bequest, deferred pledge agreement, trust, gift annuity, pooled income fund, or retirement account.
