Sister Andrea J. Lee, IHM

Sister Andrea currently serves as Interim vice president for academic affairs at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin, and as senior executive for mission and sponsorship at the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities. Prior to that she served as president of Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (2016-2022), and St. Catherine University, in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota (1998-2016). Previously (1979-1998), Sister Andrea held several administrative leadership positions in Catholic Higher Education, including dean, chief financial officer, executive vice President, and interim president at Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan.

A member of the IHM Sisters from Monroe, Michigan, Sister Andrea serves on numerous higher education and healthcare boards. She has held leadership roles with the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities as board member, conference presenter, advisor to new Catholic university presidents, and chair of the Board of Directors. Since 2019 she has led the planning for a summer vocational discernment retreat for prospective Catholic university presidents, sponsored by ACCU and held at Notre Dame and Boston College.

Sister Andrea holds undergraduate degrees in Italian language and literature, music, and elementary education, as well as her master’s and doctorate in curriculum and educational administration from the Pennsylvania State University. Among her many honors and awards, Penn State recognized Sister Andrea with the prestigious Alumni Fellow award, a lifetime appointment awarded to only one tenth of one percent of the university’s more than 600,000 graduates. Additionally, Twin Cities Business recognized her leadership in healthcare education in naming St. Catherine University’s Schmoll School of Health a Healthcare Hero.
