Sister Andrea J. Lee, IHM


Sister Andrea is president of St. Catherine University, which serves more than 5,000 students on campuses in St. Paul and Minneapolis, MN. She previously served at Marygrove College in Detroit, MI, where she held several administrative leadership positions, including Dean, Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, and Interim President.

A member of the Monroe, MI, branch of the IHM Sisters, Sister Andrea is a member of the Board of Catholic Health Initiatives, one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems. She has held leadership roles with the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities as board member, conference presenter, and advisor to new Catholic university presidents. She has served on the board of the Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota and currently serves on the Alverno College Board of Trustees. 

Sister Andrea holds undergraduate degrees in Italian language and literature, music and elementary education, as well as her master’s and doctorate in curriculum and educational administration from the Pennsylvania State University. Among her many honors and awards, Penn State recognized Sister Andrea with the prestigious Alumni Fellow award, a lifetime appointment awarded to only one tenth of one percent of the university’s more than 600,000 graduates. Additionally, Twin Cities Business recognized her leadership in healthcare education in naming the university’s Schmoll School of Health as a 2009 Healthcare Hero.
