Leslie Moran is a graduate of the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music with additional studies at the University of the Arts.

She has been a music teacher at Mid Valley Elementary Center for 25 years where she serves as the Band and Choral Director for the 5th and 6th Grades. Her choruses have won several competitions and performed at the PMEA Conference in Hershey, Pennsylvania, as well as the Generations Sing Concerts and the PTA State Conference.

She began her tenure at Marywood in 2008 when the school needed an adjunct voice teacher. She has been working as an adjunct in the department ever since.

Her favorite part of her elementary teaching role is helping students learn and foster a love of music. She enjoys when her ensembles play or sing together as a group for the first time and hear all the parts come together. At Marywood, she enjoys helping students realize their potential through the right techniques and repertoire.

Professionally, Moran is a member of the Lyric Consort, an eight voice a cappella ensemble based in Scranton. She has appeared as a guest soloist with several ensembles and she sings and plays piano for a few area churches. She teaches voice lessons at the Scranton Music Academy and is a former instructor with the Choral Society of NEPA, where she prepared choirs for performances with the NEPA Philharmonic. She has worked as a guest conductor and clinician for several PMEA ChorusFest festivals.

Outside of the classroom, Moran lives with her husband, four amazing children and a big goldendoodle. She has run over forty marathons and ultramarathons and enjoys biking and walking. In her spare time she is a calligrapher, addressing envelopes for weddings, creating certificates, invitations and original artwork.
