A Scranton native, John graduated from Scranton Preparatory School in 2006, then went on to earn his B.A. in Psychology from Temple University in 2011, where he was captain of the fencing team. After working in the clinical mental health field for almost 7 years, he returned to school, and earned his M.S. in biotechnology from Marywood University in 2020. While in this program, he worked as a graduate assistant to Dr. Christopher Brey performing genetic analysis research, which is still ongoing and has publication pending. During this time he also began adjunct instructing at Marywood, and discovered a love of science education. He currently is still an active researcher and adjunct faculty in the Marywood science department. Courses instructed include General Chemistry lecture and lab classes, Organic Chemistry Lab, Intro to Chemistry, Molecular Biology for the Healthcare Provider, General Biology lecture, and Principles of Chemistry lab classes.
