Amy Washo, PhD, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Faculty Fellow in the School of Business and Global Innovation (SBGI). Dr. Washo teaches classes in all areas of accounting, from Accounting I through Advanced Accounting, in addition to tax and audit. As part of her Faculty Fellow role, Dr. Washo assists with ACBSP accreditation reporting, meets with prospective business students and their families, and organizes events for the SBGI.

She serves as advisor of the Accounting & Finance Club and Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society. Under her direction, the Accounting & Finance Club offers university-wide programs throughout the year, one of the highlights being a financial literacy program for all Marywood students called Adulting 101. Through a series of workshops and guest speakers, students learn about financial topics that will help them when they graduate such as budgeting, loans, credit scores, retirement savings, and taxes.

Dr. Washo spent several years in corporate accounting prior to joining Marywood and still maintains professional practice in the field. She serves as Controller of a software development company, Sho Technology Solutions, based in Scranton, PA, and President of the Remember JEA Foundation, a non-profit organization created in memory of her triplet sons, John, Elijah, and Andrew, who passed away from infant prematurity. Dr. Washo serves as Treasurer on the Board of Trustees of the West Pittston Library, the oldest library in Luzerne County, PA and volunteers with Junior Leadership Northeast. She serves as an associate board member for the National Association of Business, Economics, and Technology (NABET) and a director-at-large for the northeast chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.

Dr. Washo's research interests include behaviors in business, specifically as they relate to accounting fraud and information security, and also trends in the higher education landscape. She has been published in international journals such as the Transnational Journal of Business and Computers in Human Behavior Reports and has given several national and international presentations in her research area.
