Marywood Recognized for Student Sustainability Efforts
Marywood University was recently recognized by myActions as one of the outstanding universities in the country for Green and Compassionate Student Activity. MyActions is a student-powered college network for sharing sustainable and socially responsible initiatives. The award honors undergraduate schools for student demonstrated leadership; momentum; and impact of green, caring, and healthy actions.
Marywood students were recognized for their contribution to Green Level schools by establishing affinity groups and students sharing actions with measured impact, through a group/class, or participating in a national program.
Student Activities and Leadership Development offers more than 60 extra-curricular registered clubs and organizations, including: Pugwash, Marywood's student environmental club; Net Impact Club, whose motto is "using the power of business to change the world"; and the Biology Club, to name a few of the sustainable clubs on campus.
All clubs and organizations at Marywood are student run, under the advisement of a faculty or staff member. All registered clubs are open to membership for all Marywood students.
