
Serial Killers and Why We Are So Interested in Them Presentation
Marywood University’s psychology and counseling department will host “Serial Killers and Why We Are So Interested in Them” presentation on Monday, November 9, 2020, at 5 p.m. Marywood community members are invited to register for the Zoom presentation, at Dr.HarrisonsTalk. This event is free and open to Marywood students, faculty, and staff members. A Zoom link will be provided the day of the presentation.
Marissa A. Harrison, Ph.D., is a research psychologist who investigates serial murder, and interest in serial murder, from evolutionary and clinical perspectives. Dr. Harrison is an associate professor of psychology at Penn State, Harrisburg, Pa., She earned her doctoral degree in biopsychology from The University at Albany, State University of New York. Her specialization is in evolutionary psychology.
Dr. Harrison’s research has been covered by popular written and televised media including Time Magazine, The Washington Post, CBS All Access, and Good Morning America. She been featured on radio and television programing including The Investigation Discovery ID Program, “A Crime to Remember,” BBC Radio Britain, The Jill Bennet Show, and on The Popular Irish Show Room 104 Dublin. Dr. Harrison co-authored the Book, “Judging a Book by Its Cover: The Connection Between Physical Traits and Psychology.” She is a long-time member and program chair for the Northeastern Evolutionary Psychology Society called NEEPS. Dr. Harrison lives and works just a few miles south of the Electric City, and she completed some of her undergraduate work at Marywood University.
