Join "Social Work Votes" on National Voter Registration Day

In preparation for the 2020 Election season, Marywood University’s School of Social Work partnered with Columbia University’s School of Social Work, Bryn Mawr’s School of Social Work, and Central Florida School of Social Work for an initiative titled, “Social Work Votes.” Collectively, Marywood’s bachelor and master of social work students along with its partner schools worked together to lead efforts for non-partisan voter registration and access to voting initiatives in Eastern Pennsylvania.

Marywood’s “Social Work Votes” initiative kicked off its efforts by participating in Text Banking, sending texts to people who aren’t registered to vote, or who are registered but haven’t voted in the past few elections. Text Banking started at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at 7 p.m., in conjunction with National Voter Registration Day. “Social Work Votes,” also held voter information days on Wednesday, September 23, and Friday, September 25, 2020, at 1 p.m. each day, at the Learning Commons. Additionally, “Social Work Votes,” held a virtual trivia game.
