Continuing Education at Marywood University strives to identify and meet the needs of today’s ever-changing workforce to help you stay on top of industry trends. In addition to online classes, we offer on-campus public forums and professional education programming (e.g., workshops, conferences, etc.) that lead to issuance of certificates of completion and/or continuing education credits (CEs).

Marywood School of Social Work Spring Colloquium

School of Social Work Spring Colloquium
The theme of this year's colloquium is a Charcuterie Board of Social Work: Serving up a look at Social Work Field Education, Social Work Trends, International Social Work and a History of Pennsylvania's Public Behavioral Health System.
Join us on Marywood's beautiful Scranton campus for a morning examining the applications of social work values and ethics through a historical perspective of the Public Behavioral Health System in Pennsylvania. Learn about current trends in Social Work through a Field Education lens and International Social Work through a cultural humility lens. Finally, come home to Marywood and network with fellow social workers, alumni and faculty from throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.
The event is from 8:00am - 12:30pm, with a continental breakfast being served from 8:00am - 8:45am.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will be able to identify and discuss current trends in the Social Work profession through a field education lens
- Attendees will examine global perspectives, human rights perspectives, and ecological perspectives through a DEI lens as it relates to international social work practice.
- Attendees will explore ethical decision making and social work values by examining the history of the Public Behavioral Health System in Pennsylvania
Attendees will be able to network with other professionals.
