Marywood's youth programs offer kids access to mentoring, education, personal enrichment. Programs like SOAR and S.T.A.R.S. empower the young, in preparation for the future. Nativity Miguel School, Fricchione Early Learning Center, and the String Project help kids achieve academic and professional success.

Galleries

Marywood University's four art galleries (Mahady, Suraci, and Kresge Galleries, along with The Maslow Collection Study Gallery for Contemporary Art) provide the campus community and Northeastern Pennsylvania with noteworthy cultural and study experiences. All exhibitions, receptions, and accompanying events are free of charge and open to the public. Featuring exhibits throughout the year, the galleries have weekday, evening, and weekend hours and are accessible to those with disabilities.

Health & Wellness Clinics

Through education, research, and advocacy, the Psychological Services Center, Music Therapy Clinic, and Speech, Language, and Audiology Clinics engage in collaborative research and community outreach. Programs of undergraduate and graduate study yield future health and physical activity practitioners and researchers, provide a trained workforce to support active living and community health, and expand the research scope of the University.

Office of Military and Veteran Services

The Office of Military and Veteran Services provides support for accessing educational benefits, transitioning from service to academics, and maximizing military experience and education at Marywood when entering the civilian workforce. Additionally, the office offers assistance with accessing campus resources, hosts Veteran and service-related events, while also working closely with the Student Veteran Alliance, and the Division of Student Success to meet the needs of each student.

Friends of the Poor

Friends of the Poor LogoFriends of the Poor is a nonprofit entity sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Located in the Tony Domiano Center, the organization provides emergency services in the form of food, clothing, household items, furniture, assistance with rent/utilities, and transportation to medical appointments for Carbondale residents. In February 2020, the partnership between Marywood and Friends of the Poor led to the opening of the Pacer Pantry, which provides supplemental food and other necessities to Marywood students and employees who need assistance.

African Sisters Education Collaborative

ASEC LogoThe African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) is a nonprofit organization sponsored by four Catholic universities and their congregations, including Marywood University and the IHM Congregation. Programs are offered at Marywood as well as in 10 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. ASEC's mission is to provide Catholic women in Africa with an education that will enhance and expand their knowledge of health, economic, social, environmental, and spiritual services. Sisters from Africa are able to complete online coursework and attend college classes through Marywood, providing them with access to undergraduate and graduate educations. Marywood faculty and students also have engaged in teaching, mentoring, and service-learning opportunities in Africa through ASEC's programs, leading to deeper cross-cultural understanding and educational experiences.

Marywood Heights Retirement Community

Marywood Heights LogoMarywood Heights is a university-based retirement community where independent living, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing come together in perfect harmony. Marywood Heights is the only facility in the Scranton area that offers private accommodations for all residents, promoting comfort, privacy, and dignity for all guests. Students from Marywood University have the opportunity for clinical placements or internships within walking distance from campus. Volunteer opportunities for students also exist through ongoing or one-time service experiences.
