Data Manager (#962)

Summary of Duties

The mission of the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC) is to facilitate access to education for women religious in Africa that leads to enhancement and expansion of the education, health, economic, social, environmental, and spiritual services they provide.

ASEC recognizes that women religious in Africa profoundly affect their communities and society. The services they provide are making a significant contribution to the advancement of sustainable human development and to addressing the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). To advance the efforts, ASEC provides educational opportunities for women religious in Africa so that they may further develop their talents and potential, build their education credentials and enhance the leadership and ministerial roles they assume at all level of society.

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation, the Data Manager supports all monitoring and evaluation activities for ASEC. The Data Manager formulates, implements, and enforces proper data collection policies and procedures, including data cleaning, standardization, analysis and proper management of ASEC's database to assist in ensuring the quality of ASEC programs. The Data Manager works closely with the Monitoring, Evaluations, and Program teams in ASEC headquarters and staff, students, and partners in country.



Requirements

Educational

BSc in Database Management/Administration, BSc in Management Information Systems, or BSc/BA in Computer Science or relevant field.

Work Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of proven experience implementing monitoring and evaluation activities, data management and analysis experience.

Special Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database management and systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of development, strengthening and maintenance of M&E systems, including indicator development, data collection and analysis, data validation and audits, and performance reporting.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations/social works/education would be a plus.
  • Cross-Cultural competence.

Other Elements

This position holds some financial accountability as it is responsible for dealing with vendor contracts. The role does not manage a budget and all expenses have to be approved by the supervisor.
