SCRANTON, PA-February 28, 2008.

The interior architecture and design students at Marywood University are inviting the community to attend the university's first Green Design Ball and Silent Auction on March 8, from 6-9 p.m. on Marywood's campus in the Multipurpose Room, Nazareth Hall.

The event is being sponsored by the Marywood University Interior Design club and is being conducted in the spirit of using green design as a means of having a positive impact on environment. Organizers plan to make the Green Design Ball and Silent Auction an annual event.

The ball will feature student projects that implement green design, guest speakers from Marywood University's Interior Design Program, and plenty of information on green design. Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will also be auctioned off, including a $5,000 architectural service package, donated by Dr. Maria MacDonald, jewelry from Steve Pronko Diamonds, furniture by Woods and Company, as well as many other great gifts donated by; Adrienn Lulewicz Designs, Cardoni & Associates, Attorneys at Law, The Country Club Men's Shop, The Curiosity Shop, The Dressing Room, Everything Natural, Lavender Goose, and Main Street Galleries.

The students who organized this event hope that it will give them the opportunity to show the great work they are doing within Marywood University's interior architecture and design program, in addition to allowing them to share with the community the positive effect green living can have on the environment.

"We hope that green design can become a part of everyday life for our community," states senior interior design student Lindsay Pronko.

Attire is business casual, and light refreshments will be provided. The cost of the event is $25 per person, $15 for Alumni, and $10 with Students I.D. All proceeds will be donated to the Marywood University Interiors Club, as well as to the graduating senior class.
