SCRANTON, PA

Marywood University will host the Marywood Junior High Honors Band Festival, February 28-March 1, 2008.

The festival will feature string players in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades from area schools. Matthew Marsit, Ithaca, N.Y., will be the guest conductor. Marywood faculty members Christine Appenheimer Vaida (cello) and Sophie Till (violin) will be coaching sectional rehearsals.

The students will rehearse on campus on February 29 and will perform a free public concert on Saturday, March 1, at 7 p.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts.
