Prior to her presidency, she served as the Executive Director of the African Sisters Education Collaborative (ASEC). Sister Anne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, History, and Government from Marywood in 1966. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from The Catholic University of America and a Ph.D. in Sociology from Boston College. Additionally, she pursued intensive study in Spanish at the Mexican American Cultural Center in San Antonio, Texas , in 2002, and at the Centro de Estudios Internacionales, Madrid , Spain , in 2003. Sister Anne previously served Marywood as its Director of Planning and Institutional Research and Coordinator of Title III and also was an Assistant Professor of Sociology. She has worked as Assistant to the Congregation Administrator and Director of Apostolic Planning for the I.H.M. Congregation and has taught sociology at the high school level for various Catholic schools in Pennsylvania and New York. A prolific writer, she has authored and co-authored numerous books, articles, and pamphlets, including, most recently, a book titled, Understanding and Counteracting Trafficking in Persons: The Acts of the Seminar for Women Religious , which she co-authored with Stefano Volpicelli, Bernadette Sangma, Pino Gulia, and Roberto Rossi. The book has been published in English and Italian. In the past two years, Sister Anne has presented nationally and internationally on a range of topics, including spiritual leadership, the positive potential of globalization, and cross-cultural understanding as an expression of mission. She presently serves as a board member for The University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas, and for the African Sisters Education Collaborative, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Sister Anne has been an ex officio member of the boards of Marywood University and St. Joseph's Center, Scranton, Pennsylvania; Maxis Health System, Carbondale, Pennsylvania; and Our Lady of Grace Montessori School and Center, Manhasset, New York. Additionally, she has held several leadership roles in the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), Silver Spring, Maryland, including national service as LCWR president and membership on its executive committee and national board. She is a past member of the St. Joseph's Hospital Board and the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation Board, Carbondale, Pennsylvania, as well as the board of Hospice of Pennsylvania, Inc., Scranton, Pennsylvania.
