The Sette LaVerghetta Center for the Performing Arts is home to the Marywood University Communication Arts and Music Deptartments. The main attraction of this building is the 1100 seat theatre. Several times a month you can catch a performance here. We also puts on productions in the fall and spring of each academic year. All Marywood students have the opportunity to try out for shows along with the University Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Chamber Singers and several other performing groups. On the second floor of the building are dozens of private practice rooms for music majors. All music students are expected to practice for several hours each week. Built in the 1950's as Assumption Hall, this building was known as the Performing Arts Center for many years. In 1998, it was renovated and rededicated in honor of the Sette ad LaVerghetta, and is now called the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. |
