Librarianship ResponsibilityPolicy Statement Within the context of the goals and objectives of Marywood
University, the mission of the library is to optimize organized
access to information in all formats to advance the instructional,
research, and public service goals of the University faculty, staff,
students, and the citizens of Pennsylvania. establishing and maintaining bibliographic systems that facilitate the organization and control of library resources in accord with developing national and international standards, initiatives, and access methods; Through the university committee structure and other means, the librarian is expected to contribute to the general development and improvement of the University and its mission in liberal and professional education. As an extension of that mission, the University recognizes the value of service rendered to schools, business and industry, to various agencies, or to the public at large in the local, state, national or international community.
