MISSION STATEMENT

Realizing that we are living in an Information Age, and believing that modern Instructional Technology has a significant potential to enhance the teaching/learning environment, Marywood's Instructional Technology Services is the only campuswide service agency solely dedicated to support the instructional mission of the institution Committed to a tradition of hospitable and professional service. I-Tech Services provides the leadership, expertise and resources required to create a learning environment adequate to the needs of students in the Information Age.

 

To fulfill this mission I-Tech Services:

Facilitates the integration of various communication resources into instructional learning situations, so that those resources become an integral part of the teaching/learning environment.

Advises and provides training to faculty and students in the effective and appropriate use of instructional technology designs and produces otherwise unavailable instructional materials.

Assists in the facilities design process to insure appropriate access to presentation support technologies.

Advises and provides training to faculty and students in the creation and production of effectivepresentations utilizing media.

Promotes the utilization of available distance education technologies to enhance the teaching/learning experience Commits to on-going staff development in the examination and adoption of emerging technologies Collaborates with the Library and Training and User Support staffs to plan and implement strategies that will promote access to and effective utilization of available instructional technologies.
