Perseus Project

Largest collection of classical literature with extensive supporting material. Deals with Art & Archeology, Texts, Teaching & Secondary Materials. Maintained by Tufts University since 1987.

American Classical League

Founded in 1919 for the purpose of fostering the study of classical languages in the United States and Canada. The league includes teachers of Greek, Latin & Classics from elementary school through college.

Mythology

A very extensive site dealing with mythological characters worldwide, worldwide myths, worldwide folklore, epics, gods, 275+links to mythology sites and alphabetical lists of all characters.

CERES: Cambridge English Renaissance Electronic Service

Started in October 1966, it is "aimed at those working in the area of English Renaissance literature and its environs, it offers its members a Starter Guide to help them get more from the Internet and a regular email newsletter.

Shakespeare Bookshelf

An enormous, very comprehensive site compiled by the Internet Public Library, there are links to criticism, a Webspeare-study guides and discussion groups on the Bard; annotated guide to scholarly Shakespeare resources on the web and even full text versions of Shakespeare's works.

Making of America

This is "a digital library of primary sources in American social history from the antebellum period through reconstruction. The collection is particularly strong in the subject areas of education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion and science and technology. This searchable database contains thousands of books and articles.

Teaching American Literature

Maintained by Georgetown University, this is a superb collection of resources on American literature.
