Student Perspectives

There are so many opportunities for English language acquisition at Marywood. Students can expand their learning beyond the classroom not only through interaction with the university community but also through local cultural activities. Northeastern Pennsylvania is a beautiful place to study and live.

What IEP Students Say About The Program

The Intensive English Program helps international students prepare to study in American universities. There are many opportunities to speak English here--you can speak with American students, listen to American music, watch American movies, and read books in English. This program helps international students learn how to live in America because they can learn about American culture in the classroom.

Each student residence has television lounges for relaxing, and quiet lounges for studying. My recommendation is to stay on campus for at least the first year to improve your English.

Computers help me learn English. Academic computer workshops offer help to the novice computer user. They also show Marywood students how to use e-mail, the Internet, and statistical applications.

You can go to New York City on the weekend, but you had better wear sneakers because you will walk a lot while you shop!
