    ABSTRACTION: The Power of Memory
The Power of Memory is a selective, incomplete, distorted and defensive force. One is born to remember and the artist has the obsession to rediscover the past, putting the pieces together. Through memory one can claim the common ground of the imagination - the source and substance out of which all art is made. The exhibit features two-and three dimensional works in a variety of media that stand beyond representation, claiming the invisible and a sense of the spirit. The exhibit was curated by Ben Frank Moss, a professor of studio art at Dartmouth College, who invited and juried the collection of over 40 works by 30 artists. The traveling show is sponsored by CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts), a national organization for Christians working in all areas and styles of visual arts.
