On May 21, 2007, Marywood University President Sister Mary Reap, I.H.M. announced that the University had received a significant gift. At a news conference held at the University's Mahady Gallery, Sister Mary told the audience and members of the media that Mr. Richard Maslow and the Maslow Family have agreed to a long-term loan of The Maslow Collection to Marywood University..... THE MASLOW COLLECTION @ Marywood University
The exhibition both continues a longstanding relationship between Marywood and The Maslow Collection as well as initiates a new expanded partnership. The emphasis in this exhibition will be placed on presenting some of the most significant works in the Collection as well as providing an overview of the development of The Maslow Collection since its inception in the early 1980s. Selected works by Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Sherrie Levine, Chuck Close, Sandy Skoglund, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Jack Goldstein, Barbara Kasten, Melissa Meyer, Steven Campbell, and Tony Sorce among others will be included in the exhibition.
