Wellness: Team Challenge: Guidelines

Team Challenge 2012

The Goal

  • Team Challenge 2012 will offer employees of Marywood University the opportunity to act on their new year resolutions to live healthier, exercise more, stress less, lose weight and improve their well being in a fun, team-spirited program.
  • Team Challenge is a 10 week program beginning January 18, 2012 and ending on March 28nd.
  • The Start date (1/18) will include free lipid profile (Cholesterol) and glucuse (blood sugar) from Viewmont Medical Labs and biometric health checks such as blood pressure, BMI and waist size in the Latour Room, Nazareth Hall.
  • Biometrics will be checked again on 3/28.
  • A link will be provided to all participants for scheduling an appointment for biometrics.
  • Weekly wellness sessions will be taught by Marywood faculty and staff.

 

The Teams

  • Individuals are encouraged to create teams of 2 to 6 members with a team captain.
  • Individuals may also be placed on a team, pending their approval.
  • Individuals will record exercise sessions on google documents. Contact mtmazur@marywood.edu to request a google doc.
  • Because team size will vary, the winning team will be the team that averages the most points

 

The Captains

  • The team captains will collect the information from their teams and record the progress on a google document.

 

Earning Points

  • Attend weekly Workplace Wellness Sessions - 2 points
  • Fitness coaching at the Mellow Center- 1 point (Contact: jmjones@marywood.edu)
  • Reviewing online presentations- 1 point
  • Every day of exercise totaling 30 minutes or more- 1 point
  • Group walking sessions on the indoor track-1 points
  • Every pound lost- 1 point
  • beginning and ending biometrics-10 points each
  • complete Health Risk Assessment-10 points
