Wellness: Emotional Well-Being

May is Mental Health Month!

May is Mental Health Month and Mental Health America reports that one in four adults live with a diagnosable mental health condition. Yet, many people, as many as 50 percent, never receive help due to stigma, lack of information, cost or lack of health insurance coverage. You can learn more about all types of mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, grief, trauma, substance abuse and stress. Go to the Mental Health America to learn more.

Also, free publications on a variety of mental health topics are available from the National Institute of Mental Health.

If you or a loved one are in need, there are many community and national resources that can help people find support and treatment. Mental health issues are common, treatable and individuals can go on to recover and lead full, productive lives.
