Marywood University Hosts R-Vets Program Graduation

and Announces Next Session of the Program

SCRANTON, PA—Marywood University recently hosted the R-VETS program graduation. The R-VETS program (Renewal-Veteran Education and Transition Services) is focused on providing college access to community and current Marywood student veterans and their spouses, who are interested in post-secondary education. The courses offered include math and academic writing, along with other transitional services, at no cost to veterans or their spouses.

Students who completed the program were presented with certificates of completion, and faculty volunteers of the program, Karlene Cicco and Christopher Lynett, were presented with certificates of appreciation.

Applications are now being accepted for the January session of the R-VETS program at Marywood University. The classes are scheduled for Wednesdays, from 5-7 p.m., and run from January 28 through March 4, 2014. There is no cost to the veteran students or their spouses for this program, and all supplies will be provided through donations (notebooks, calculators, pens, pencils, etc.).
