I. Call to Order/Quorum

The meeting was called to order by Carol Boynosky, Chair. Carol stated we have a quorum.

II. Sister Mary Addressed the Support Staff

Sister Mary addressed the Support Staff about the upcoming Trustee Day on April 28th and the Middle States self-study, review and report. The Middle States team visited Marywood University on April 3rd through 5th. Sr. Rosemary Jeffries gave the short version and the long, printed version is posted on our webpage. We are in such good shape and we should be proud. Sr. Mary is very grateful to everyone for all their hard work in preparing for this Middle States evaluation.

III. Patricia Dunleavy, Asst. of Human Resources Addresses Support Staff Regarding New Health Care Plans for Next Fiscal Year

Pat first thanked Artie and Margaret for being on the Benefits Committee. She immediately announced that "We had a bad year. When Marywood University was fully insured, we paid on the budget plan, now we pay as we go, depending on what kind of year we are having." Marywood University had a very bad year and because we are self-funded, this affects us dramatically. Some decisions will now need to be made in terms of insurance plans and getting the best prices we can. We should try to keep ourselves healthier for the future in order to prevent healthcare costs from skyrocketing. Currently we have only two options that we can choose from.

IV. Jill Murray , Director of the Institute for Health/Wellness at Marywood University, addressed the Support Staff regarding the status of healthcare

Jill said we should be proactive with our healthcare. Wellness is so important. There will be seminars and workshops we should all try to attend. We should do everything in our power to maintain healthcare costs. Marywood will provide education to help us make healthier choices. We will be notified by e-mail or the dates and times of the workshops and seminars.

V. Support Staff Hospitality Committee Items

Linda Dzieciol, the Chair of the Social & Hospitality Committee announced the Support Staff picnic at Knoebels Amusement Park, Elysburg, PA will be held on Sunday, July 23rd, 2006. Sister Mary and Goal 4 helped us last year with generous contributions. We hope they will do the same this year. We will have the busses available like last year and this year we will have Pavilion A, which is a much better location.

For the raffle fundraiser, we will have 3 winners this year. We will also be selling t-shirts (orange) and this year, we will offer youth sizes.

Trip to Atlantic City - The bus trip to Atlantic City on March 11th was a tremendous success. The total profit was $515.08. Fifty-Six people went on the trip. Now that we have a system down for bus trips, we will attempt to run some more. Linda is also receiving a lot of suggestions from the people at MU with ideas for other trips and of course we will take all these into consideration and decide accordingly. There is a possibility of having a trip to the wineries in this Fall.

Tea Party - Thank you so much for all of your help and support with the Tea Party held Monday, April 10th in the Crystal Room. Although it was not a huge financial success, it certainly was a wonderfully relaxing time! We have received several favorable comments about this event. Because people have enjoyed it so much, we have decided to have a monthly "tea get together" to either swap tea or just enjoy some relaxing time during your lunch hour.

Beautiful Baskets - The beautiful basket fundraiser will start in October.

VI. Elections

Elections for some key executive Support Staff positions, (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Maintenance representatives) will take place in July. We will start the election process by accepting volunteers.

VII. The meeting came to a close at 11:00 a.m.
