The purpose of this course is to identify and develop an understanding of the issues inherent in the study and assessment of abnormal behavior. The course explores current paradigms for viewing psychopathological behavior and analyzes the commonalities and differences among these perspectives, emphasizing possible explanations of causality. Major cognitive, affective, personality, and character disturbances will be addressed within the framework of the DSM IV classification system.
Class meets in Lehigh Valley. Class begins on July 2nd and ends on August 20th. Prerequisites: SW 601 and SW 602. SW 602 may be taken concurrently with SW 621.
